PRODUCT REVIEWS

One can forget that Graves, the left bank region just to the south of the city of Bordeaux, with its gravelly soil (hence the name), is the oldest of all the wine growing regions of Bordeaux whose wines the British have been buying since the 1200s.

Château Perron 2009 is a new find we are very proud of - a lovely rich mature Graves, 35% merlot, 5% cabernet franc and 60% cabernet sauvignon. I recommend you open and decant a good hour before drinking and enjoy a wine reaching its peak from the magnificent 2009 vintage, thought by the late Steven Spurrier to be with 2010 the greatest since 1961 and 1945.

How does the wine taste?
Cracking nose, very fresh, with an elegant perfume. Luscious black and red berry fruit both on the nose and following through on the palate. Warming in the mouth, perfectly balanced between the fruit, the tannins and the hint of spice, a trademark Graves characteristic.
