Nero d'Avola, Origini, Sicilia 2019
We all get very excited when we find a very special new wine and are delighted to be listing our new Nero d'Avola 2019 from the heart of Sicily. We tried this recently at an tasting of red wines mainly from Bordeaux and the Rhône, all of which were much more expensive. It stood out and was the first wine we all agreed we should offer to you, our customers.
Nero d'Avola is the principal red grape grown in Sicily that was originally cloned from syrah and thrives in Sicily's hot and rugged climate and the occasional eruption from Mount Etna.
Winemaker Enrico Mercato has crafted this sumptuous lightly oak aged wine which is soft and full of rich black fruit flavours with a hint of spices and a lovely finish. It is a wine for all seasons that you can drink anywhere at any time.
