Mâcon-Péronne 'Vieilles Vignes', Domaine du Bicheron 2022
Good news! The new Mâcon-Péronne 2022 has arrived at our warehouse. Quite simply, this is the white burgundy I have for my Christmas dinners. Always. And as for the vintage, Neal Martin at vinous.com describes 2022 as “a ‘very good year’. A top vintage. A 1985 Burgundy or a 1982 Bordeaux. It was an annus mirabilis...”.
Ever our best-selling white wine, Mâcon-Péronne is made by the Rousset family, who have been making wine in this particular region just north of Pouilly-Fuissé since 1889.

Extremely drinkable, my go to white. (previous vintage)
For someone who prefers less minerality in their white burgundy and a fuller, flavoured type, for the price this is a winner. (previous vintage)
My favourite regular white burgundy. Evocative and rewarding, has the steeliness, depth and class to accompany great fish/seafood and a wonderful aperitif wine too. (previous vintage)
Delicious - more of a hint of tropical fruit than most white Burgundies but still with an underlying acidity. (previous vintage)
Very drinkable. I do not have the olfactory vocabulary needed to describe a flavour. It is enjoyable, though. (previous vintage)
