Appassimento Grillo, Miopasso, Sicily 2021
For lovers of Italian wines, many of the more exciting discoveries these days are being produced by a new generation of young wine growers on the great and wonderful island of Sicily.
And among these discoveries is this most delicious Appassimento Grillo from Miopasso. A luscious, pale-golden-hued Sicilian white produced in the ancient Marsala region, where its wines have been highly prized since ancient Roman times. Here, Grillo fruit is hand-picked in several passes of the vines for peak ripeness and then partially dried for optimum concentration of colour, aroma and flavour. The result is a gorgeous combination of nuts, dried fruit and honey on the nose and juicy citrus on the palate. A wine equally gorgeous with grilled chicken or cream-based pasta.
