Château du Raux 2016 from the Haut-Médoc is our latest, gorgeous, mature claret from this wonderful vintage. It is drinking beautifully now and will be for a good few years to come. The Château is close to Saint-Julien with exactly the same, largely pebble terroir, such that the wine could well be mistaken as being from that appellation.

With almost a decade of maturation, this claret shines with all the precision, heightened freshness and classicism that characterises the outstanding 2016 vintage. Where layers ripe cassis with tobacco, woodsmoke, and spice make for a palate plush yet composed, with silky tannins and a long, mineral-driven finish. In other words, classic, sensual Cru Bourgeois elegance and fabulous value in every glass.
