Côtes du Rhône Villages 'Plan de Dieu', Château St-Jean 2020
Château Saint Jean’s 'Plan de Dieu' 2020 is undoubtedly among the best reds from any of the Côtes du Rhône Villages appellations. It's full of rich, vibrant fruit, and is of such quality that one might easily mistake the cuvée for a good Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Except it’s only half the price.
This full-throttle, peppery Côtes du Rhône Villages, made mainly of grenache, is already drinking beautifully and sure to get even better over the next few years. And given how quickly the 2019 vintage sold out, we expect this better vintage to do likewise. Only more quickly. Decanter has given the 2020 Rhône vintage terrific reviews, judging it the best of what has been a series of exceptional years for the region. So, here's a Plan de Dieu that is not to be missed.
