Fleurie, Château de Fleurie, Maison Loron 2021
In terms of sheer elegance and complexity, the wines of Maison Jean Loron are prime examples of the quality you can now find in Beaujolais. Yet still, those heightened qualities are what you enjoy for comparatively less than in the rest of Burgundy.
The Spectators Jonathan Ray certainly is. He says: "One word to describe it is joyful."
The 2021 Maison Loron Château de Fleurie is an old favourite that we offered last year to loud applause. Maison Jean Loron has been producing fine Beaujolais for over 300 years and this is an absolute peach, being fresh, juicy and full of vibrant, ripe, hedgerow fruit. One word to describe it is joyful."
About the producer:
Maison Jean Loron has one of the largest and longest-standing vineyards in Beaujolais and has been family-owned since 1711. It is currently in the hands of the eighth generation. Cru Beaujolais is the highest level of quality, standing above Beaujolais AOC and Beaujolais Villages.
