Brut Cuvée Prestige 'Blanc de Noirs', Michel Guilleminot, Champagne
Looking through my notes after our Christmas tasting at the Polish Club in South Kensington two weeks ago I wrote ‘Guilleminot Champagne - the star of the show’. Indeed it was. I tasted it with several of our guests and on each occasion we all agreed that it was the best champagne out of five at the tasting, and the least expensive. It is a single grower champagne, made in modest quantities with great care and attention by the Guilleminot family - far removed from the enormous production of some of the Grandes Marques. It also has over three years of bottle aging, providing a vintage character. It will be my go-to champagne for Christmas - gorgeous.
