Ladoix Blanc, Maison Jaffelin 2020
A lovely bright golden hue in the glass, a quick swish releasing aromas of orchard fruits, seasoned oak, and a hint of butterscotch and rich nuttiness.
Initially, the palate shows ripe apple and orchard fruit, progressing to softer, fleshy stone-fruit with gentle notes of pineapple, a touch of quince, a seam of toasty oak, and nuttiness with an almost creamy texture.
The palate feel is lovely. Time spent in new and old/seasoned French oak with lees stirring has enhanced the wine’s texture, also resulting in a nutty, creamy, very lengthy finish with a fresh palate-cleansing zest.
