Chateau d'Angludet, Cru Bourgeois Margaux 2014 (Magnum)
Undoubtedly Margaux's best-known cru bourgeois estate, and as such with much thanks to the grand cru-classé quality it delivers with every vintage. It is a level of quality that owes itself to the château's rather unique use of terracotta amphorae in the vinification process, an employment that enables a gentler, more gradual micro-oxygenation of the wines whilst avoiding any woody or tannic import typical to maturation done solely in oak. Hence the purity, clarity and aromatic delicacy that is preserved then enjoyed in the wines of Château Angludet.
"Good meaty, even slightly leathery cassis fruit typical richness, deep flavours, length and balance from this estate. Always a good wine." - Steven Spurrier, Decanter
