Jonathan Ray's Verdict

"As oil scales level, so the 2021 Saint-Julien, from one of the commune’s best-known estates, improves with each passing year. It’s in sublime form at the moment, being taut, correct, slightly herbaceous, with the familiar cedarwood, graphite and lots of fresh fruit."
Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine

Classic Saint-Julien, Coming Beautifully into Its Own
From one of the commune's best-known estates, this declassified 2021 is a particularly fine example of the elegance and refinement that make Saint-Julien so appealing. With several years of development behind it, the wine is showing greater harmony and approachability while retaining its classical Médoc character.

There's an attractive combination of dark berry fruit, gentle herbal freshness and the familiar cedarwood and graphite notes of fine claret. With a supple, generous texture and a lovely savoury finish, it's drinking beautifully now and should continue to give pleasure through to 2028.

How does the wine taste? Customer Reviews (0)
Another very pretty, expressive 2021 with pronounced blackberry and plum aromas and an underlying green-leaf freshness. Positively glowing, with attractive perfume, warm, sweetish autumn-berry intensity and subtle herbaceous notes. A little more merlot here than the other Médoc appellations - with luscious texture and no hard edges. Finishes with a dash of smoky spice and appealing chewy richness. Drink now-2028.
