Château Cap St-Georges, Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion 2015
From the smallest Right Bank appellation and adjoining the plateau in Saint-Émilion this is something of a find of ours and was a star at our claret tasting in October that we all knew we had to buy - it was that good. The wine is 87% merlot and 13% cabernet franc with complex and concentrated red fruit flavours, and lovely mineral undertones from its exceptional terroir. In my opinion, it is of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé quality.
