Côtes de Provence Rosé, Mas de Cadenet 2019
This fantastic rosé now has 6 months bottle age and is even better than when I first tasted it in my garden in early Spring (see the video below). Mas de Cadenet is a superb Provençal rosé from the Negrel family vineyards in the foothills of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire where everything is done with meticulous care and by hand.
Their rosé gets better and better every year – wild salmon pink with a perfect balance of summer fruit and berries. Gorgeous and exceptionally good value for a rosé of this quality.
"Spring is here and it's time to find room in the fridge for some decent pinkers. Happily, there's no need to look further than the 2019 Mas de Cadenet Côtes de Provence Rosé, previous vintages of which we've offered very successfully. This pale, pale blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah is as good as ever: lively, faintly spicy and herbal and drinkable." - Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine
"Very pale pink and imbued with the fragrances of crushed stone and sun-dried herbs, the 2019 Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire Rosé is the embodiment of the appellation. This blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah is medium-bodied yet lively and refreshing, with white peach and melon flavours tinged with red currants, finishing cool and stony." 91 points, Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
