Mâcon Uchizy, Domaine Talmard, Burgundy 2022
The Talmard family have once again produced a beautifully weighted, balanced wine; fruit-forward in style and deliciously moreish. Favouring slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks to retain a purity of fruit, they ensure also the wine stays on its lees for a few extra months to imbue a greater depth of flavour and delicate texture in the palate. No oak is used.
The nose is one of pronounced citrus, melon and peach, with a backdrop of delicate tropical fruit. The palate is fresh and zesty with soft, fleshy white stone fruit, citrus and melon, leading to a delicately textured, lengthy finish.
Although Talmard's Mâcon Uchizy is an indisputable midweek essential, it is also a well worthy partner to finer dining, and one to improve beautifully in bottle over 18-24months.

Reliably excellent easy drinking
Really enjoyed this. Quite fruity, easy drinking, no oak. Definitely buying more
Just what you want in a Macon: fresh, buttery, a hint of lemon and no oak. I immediately ordered another case.
