"We offered the 2006 Urbina Rioja Reserva Especial from family-owned, 150-year-old Bodegas Urbina, last year and, although fully mature then, I reckon its even finer with the extra nine months in bottle. A blend of old vine Tempranillo with touches of Mazuelo and Graciano, its rich and fruity with, according to Mrs Ray, plenty of soft, red strawberries and earthy, autumnal notes on the finish."

2004 Rioja Gran Reserva Especial, Bodegas Urbina
"The 2004 Urbina Gran Reserva Especial had both Mrs R. and Felicity firmly in what they termed their Rioja zone. They both loftily declared theyd spot it as a 2004 anywhere but only because theyd copped a squint at the label when I wasnt looking. We all agreed, though, that it was worth its 95 points and being termed outstanding at a recent Decanter retrospective, and we loved its teasing mix of plum/cherry fruit, vanilla and savoury beef bouillon on the finish."

Faulty or unenjoyable bottles of any description, reported within six months of purchasing will be refunded without question or delay. We aim to deliver your wines within our standard 1 to 4 working days. 90% of orders are delivered within 48 hours. There are certain wines which are on a pre-order status and these are clearly marked on the product themselves and at the checkout stage. Deliveries take place between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
