Why it's one of our favourites
Some wines become favourites because they consistently over-deliver, and Petite Sirène is one of them. Produced by the winemaking team behind the celebrated Château Giscours in Margaux, it captures everything we look for in classic Left Bank Bordeaux: generous black fruit, refined tannins and effortless drinkability. Now with five years of bottle age, it has developed beautifully, bringing together freshness, elegance and maturity in a wine that's equally suited to a midweek supper or a special Sunday lunch. It's no surprise this has become our best-selling Bordeaux.

From Ben Godfrey
"Petite Sirène is one of those wines I never hesitate to recommend. It offers genuine Left Bank pedigree without the price tag, combining the generosity of Merlot with the structure and freshness of Cabernet Sauvignon. Brilliant value and one of the most enjoyable clarets I've tasted in years."

How does the wine taste? Customer Reviews (6)
Deep ruby in colour with expressive aromas of violets, spiced plum, black cherry and subtle cedar. The palate is generous yet beautifully balanced, offering ripe black fruit, silky tannins and a freshness that carries through to a long, elegant finish. Mature enough to enjoy immediately, while retaining all the character of classic Left Bank Bordeaux.

It is so good, count the cases I have bought. (They are all for me).

Thoroughly enjoyed this wine, especially with roast meat dishes. A good price for a drinkable Bordeaux

Giscours little mermaid punches well above her weight. Its hard to find a rival Bordeaux at this price.

I struggle to find enjoyable Bordeaux at a sensible price but this is brilliant. I have a few bottles of Giscours 2000 which I eek out on special occasions. Never knew they did a 3rd wine and will make this my everyday Bordeaux.

"Made by the winemaking team at Margaux third growth, Château Giscours, this appellation Bordeaux red is 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Now with five years under its belt, there's a gentle pink rim to the ruby colour and very attractive aromas of spiced plum compote, with some classy cedar and a depth of fruit. A very pleasing wine in the mouth too, lots of juicy plum and black cherry, firm tannins and keen cherry-skin acidity give enough bite and structure, against the suppleness of the fruit."
"We've offered the previous vintage of the 2016 Petite Sirène before and sold out our allocation each time. And little wonder, for it's fantastic value for what is the third wine of Château Giscours, the fabled 3ième Cru of Margaux (and home, incidentally, to the Bordeaux Giscours Cricket Club). With hints of roses on the nose and dark, rounded spicy fruit on the palate, it makes a very easy-going lunch wine."
