Château Moulin Eyquem, Côtes de Bourg 2018
This lovely relatively unknown fine claret was the favourite of many of my friends at our wine tasting in the Long Room at Lords. The vineyards of Château Moulin Eyquem date from 1597 and consist of 20 hectares on clay and lime terraces, 20 kilometres north of Bordeaux by the Garonne, looking towards the Dordogne. These are some of the oldest vineyards in the Côtes de Bourg which under the guidance of the Mostermans family, are now one of the appellation's top estates, producing high quality wines that get better with each passing year.
Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot grapes, this fine, delicious claret is even better now with five years of bottle age, and a great pleasure to have in the glass.
Be quick to enjoy the last cases of this vintage before it's gone.

A very reliable red that has been well received by a range of guests especially with beef, turkey and ham dishes
Drank this on New Year's Eve dinner with friends in Scotland and thankfully well received. Good fruit, well balanced , nice aged claret.
