If I were to choose a ‘desert-island’ white, it would absolutely be Burgundy. Chardonnay is, of course, grown all over the world, but the Côte d’Or villages of Puligny, Meursault and Chassagne are where it reaches is absolute peak – where what many of us believe to be the world’s finest white wines are made.
