"The 2015 Ch. d’Escurac is an extremely impressive Cru Bourgeois claret from an 11th century estate in Civrac-en Médoc. A half-and-half blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that’s just hitting its prime, it’s deep, dark and intense with hedgerow fruit and plenty of blackcurrant. I suggest showing it off in carafe or decanter."

Château d'Escurac 2015 is one of the better Médoc Cru Bourgeois and has been a firm favourite of mine for many years, producing consistently high quality wine at a more than reasonable price. Their 2015 is particularly good coming from a great vintage with scores of 91 points from both James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast. I particularly recommend it, being rather greedy myself, in splendid magnums that will captivate your friends, family and yourself of course.
The château dates back to the 11th century and lies on one of the highest crests in the Médoc with a terroir of gravel and clay. The oak aged blend is 60% merlot, 30% cabernet and 10% petit verdot. All in all the perfect ingredients to make a fine claret.
