In a sheltered valley at the foot of Monte Amiato, the highest mountain in Tuscany, the wines benefit from the very rich mineral soil of this extinct volcano.  

One of Tuscany's oldest producers using the region's ancient "Governo" method by which dried grapes are added to the ferment to enhance color, body, texture, fragrance and power.

The wine is a celebration of the mysterious processes that occur within the bottle after the barrel. This is a cut above the other brilliant wines of Potentino.

Produced with 100% sangiovese this release from La Gerla really is quite a vibrant wine both in terms of colour and flavour.

A perfectly mature 'mini-super-Tuscan' blend of sangiovese, cab franc and merlot and without the super-Tuscan price. Almost two decades on, it's full of delicious nuance, complexity - and life.

A delicious and complex wine made by Charlotte Horton of Castello di Potentino, from Pinot Noir. A serious, oak aged wine which has a long life ahead of it.

Broad, rich and rewarding on the palate with ripe tannins and an appealing, plump texture. Bravo.
